Youth Equip

Remember what I said about excessive dancing? Forget about that now. The Youth Equip event in Kathmandu took that concept to a new level, again with the Guns n' Roses esque worship band. It was awesome.  It feels impossible to adequately describe the level of energy bound up in the youth that came from cities and villages all over Nepal to participate in this event. It seems as though apathy is a concept unknown here.
"Hunger" is the best word to be found when describing the young men and women at Youth Equip. Many of these youth have come from generations of Hinduism and Buddhism, and their faith in Jesus has cost them much; some have been excommunicated by their families. In spite of what their faith has cost them, these youth stand in a posture of having gained everything; they have had an encounter with Jesus, and they are hungry for more, no matter what. This hunger is reflected in their worship, in their fellowship with one another, and in their desire to see their city and their world touched by the God they know.
